PPT

Whenever I make a powerpoint presentation, I make sure that the title of every slide is in some way a double entendre, a pun, or otherwise humorous.  Sometimes people laugh, sometimes I just end up laughing and people shake their heads.  For example, the presentation I am doing tomorrow about the coevolution of ants and acacia trees is entitled “Ants in my Plants”.

As much as I love writing a “blog-style paper” on the coevolution between ants and acacia trees, why does it have to be this weekend?!  I mean, it’s intereststing and all, but I would rather be playing with my dog or eating copious amounts of food.  Or doing other awesome things that I do when I come home to the ‘ville.

Oh man, I just mentioned the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in a paper I am writing about the ethics of wilderness preservation. Svalbard, awesome.

After coding my DNA a couple weeks ago, I cross referenced it with the Cambridge Reference Sequence to determine that I am a part of Haplogroup K.  This lineage is thought to have arisen about 50,000 years ago in what is now central Europe. Famous K members include Katie Couric and Stephen Colbert.

So the German Department held a competition this afternoon to see who could make the best “Berlin Wall” grafitti in order to commemorate the 20th anniversary of der Fall der Mauer.  Anyways, my group won first place!

Neon Indian- Terminally Chill

This is the beginning of Proteus, which I recently bought.  It is a visually stunning and pretty interesting documentary.  19th century drawings of microscopic organisms are brought to life.  It’s neat.

Cid’s Theme- FFVII

I’ve started doing this thing where I take all of the vegetables/beans that I have and put them in a pot and add a little water and boil it until the water is gone and then eating it.  This seems easier/more delicious than following a recipe for “stew”.  mm.
